The ‘KJM/Manchetts’ Fen Tigers confirmed their place in this seasons National League Knockout Cup Final with a 47-43 second leg victory versus Belle Vue at the National Speedway Stadium. Although without three of their top five through injury and already holding a 39 point lead the Fen Tigers young guns were in no mood to see their unbeaten run end and a strong performance saw them qualify for the final 111-68 on aggregate

Like the league meeting between these two sides earlier in the season the meeting was a close affair with some fine racing from both sides but the Fen Tigers always held the upper hand claiming twelve of the fifteen race wins and only once being behind. Teenage stars Drew Kemp and Captain Jordan Jenkins led the way with returns of 17 and paid 15 respectively, they received strong back up from guest Danny Phillips and Matt Marson.

The finals don’t end there though as Sunday (3pm start) sees the ;KJM/Manchetts’ Fen Tigers host the second leg of the National Trophy final against old rivals Cradley! Holding a 12 point lead from the first leg last Tuesday the Fen Tigers will be looking to secure their first trophy of the season at their home track. Ben Morley will come in at number one to guest for Danny Ayres whilst Ryan Kinsley and Josh Bailey return to the side. Following his injury on Tuesday the Heathens run rider replacement for Ellis Perks and will use Nathan Stoneman and Tom Brennan rather than Jack Smith and Kyle Bickley.

Club promoter Kevin Jolly said “Last night and Tuesday evening showed just how far these boys have come, they have a winning mentality now and will not back down even in a situation like last night when we already held a considerable lead. They wanted to keep their winning run going and battled to the end to ensure they did just that. Drew is really flying now and his performances these last few meetings have seen him step up yet again, whilst we saw last night the old Jordan. He has come back from a bad injury and has been working so hard to get back where he was, I thought his rides in heats ten and eleven were the signal that he is back to his best and that is great news for him and the team.

Moving onto Sunday there will be no complacency from the lads, they want this trophy and the others available and with our passionate crowd behind them I am confident Sunday will be an afternoon to remember”
